Improved suggestions, workout building and many bug fixes

This was a quality week for RaceDayReady. We fixed many bugs and improved the workout suggestions and building experience. This lays the groundwork for some very big improvements coming soon.

Improvements

  • Significantly improved workout suggestions and building experience. Suggestions are now more likely to be relevant and useful.
  • Improved FORM Goggles exporting.
  • Improved workout builder performance.

Fixes

  • Fixed many bugs where occasionally workout builder generations would fail.
  • Fixed swim distance yard/meter conversion issues.
  • Fixed duration input focus being lost.

FORM Goggles support

FORM Goggles support

You can now export workouts to FORM Goggles! Copy or scan the workout text to your FORM Goggles app to create the workout.

Improvements

  • Added the ability to export workouts to FORM Goggles.
  • Can now build swims from the public workout builder.
  • Zwift/MyWhoosh workouts now support native repeat functionality. Repeats only work if 2 or less segments are in the group (.zwo file limitation).
  • Improved settings UI with collapsible sections.
  • Improved our guides (https://docs.racedayready.app).
  • Improved synced workout performance and connection logic.
  • Improved the usability of the duration inputs.

Fixes

  • Swim distances now show properly depending on pool length/measurement preferences.
  • Fixed some date input rendering issues.

FTP, granular bike zones, workout builder improvements

Set your FTP in settings, view bike segment watts, and enjoy a faster, more flexible workout builder with granular bike zones.

Improvements

  • Added the ability to set your FTP in the settings and the workout builder.
  • Added granular control of bike zones in the workout builder.
  • The workout builder is much more performant and simplified behind the scenes.
  • The workout builder experience on mobile should be far easier to use and navigate.
  • The public workout builder is now enabled for everyone.

Fixes

  • Workouts completed before signing up are no longer "unplanned".
  • Fixed a rare issue where Strava syncs would sometimes not match workouts to planned workouts.

Race priorities

You can now set the priority of your races (A race vs B race). Behind the scenes, RDR's training plans will better periodize your training for races based on their priority (more coming soon here). Existing races will be updated to have a priority of 'A', update any race's priority by editing the race in the Races tab.

Improvements

  • Added a quick action to move a workout back a day.
  • Added a zone breakdown to the workout cards.
  • Races now have a workout generated for them with the activity's distance and target time.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where users could get stuck in onboarding when connecting Strava
  • Fixed a bug where race creation occasionally failed.

Chat to edit, new training preferences

Just like prompting to create workouts, you can now also chat to edit workouts. We also added new training preferences, like target hours/week and maintenance workout types to allow you to fully customize your suggestions.

Improvements

  • Better workout generation states to make it clear when suggestions are being generated.
  • Added a Blog! We'll be posting some interesting content there from time to time.

Fixes

  • Bugs with generating workouts not properly showing in the dashboard.

Quality fixes

No flashy features yet (some big ones coming soon). This update fixes some quality issues and improves the overall experience.

Improvements

  • Ramp segments will now split evenly between zones in Garmin workouts.
  • Races can now be added for up to 2 years from now.
  • Upped race limits to 1250mi (2000km) for bike and 310mi (500km) for run. Some of you do some crazy races!
  • Swims will no longer have ramp segments, that didn't make much sense.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where runs would sometimes show meters rather than time in the workout builder.
  • Issues converting workouts to other workout types in the workout builder.

RDR now generates weekly suggestions

Weekly suggestions

RaceDayReady will now generate a full week of suggestions before the start of each week. Suggestions are generated based on your recent training history and upcoming races.
